Proceed with caution.

A Web Site is a Web Site is a Web Site....right?

No. It's not.

That's settled. Let us move on to more pressing issues:

Visualize. A sweater. Red and green. Whoa. Horizontal stripes with alternating colors. Causes rapid eye movement and non-physical concussions. 3-Dimensional pieces - stitched in to add some flair to the viewing experience. Shame. Its the crowning piece of someone's holiday ensemble. It may be hard on the eyes of one's daily acquaintances, but as long as they wear it with pride, they c- Nope. Still ugly.

In my own fashion-challenged opinion, there are two types of sweaters: Ones that scream bloody murder from 50 yards out and ones that are...."nice" and all seem to look quite similar. Most of us have the necessary survival skills to stay away from the "bloody murder" sweaters. The trick is choosing the right "nice" sweater. Some of them are lemons, prepared to unravel as soon as you walk past an erect light-switch, but its hard to tell (for some) because they all look so similar.

Seems to me that sweater designers are "borrowing" ideas from other (more capable) sweater designers in attempts to reach the highest plateau of sweater success. Hmmm. Before long, the top selling sweater designer has dozens of competitors, all peddling the same TIRED design, all at different prices and smothering the racks at Macy's. Some of them are well made, some not. Prices aren't necessarily on par with quality here.

Let us digress.

Sweater metaphor unraveled: Not all web sites are created equal. Though this seems painfully obvious, you could still be suckered into contracting a horrible website just because it has a pretty design, if you're not careful. Choose a designer wisely because looks can be very deceiving. Not the looks of the designer - that you can pretty much make judgement on right away.

Just remember - design and function don't always walk into the sunset, hand in hand. In fact, sometimes design lops off function's writing hand and runs into the sunset alone. Tragic.

Oh. - and what is that stringy thing hanging from your sleeve?

xxxxx

About The Author
Walt McClure is Head Designer and Project Manager of McClure Web Design - Delaware.
http://www.mcclurewebdesign.com/
mwd@mcclurewebdesign.com

=============================================

More posting about various categories :

Mobile Content Download Failure, Mobile Scams, SMS Competition Costs – Customer or Network Responsibility?
PHILIPS 859
The History Of Cellphones; Telefonos Moviles Just Began With Simple Telephones
nokialand
money
The Growth Of Cellphones
recipe for outsourcing your software
software development
offshore software
iso 9001 software
reverse engineering

Get Three Thousand Channels On Your P.C.

by: Cathy Barela

How would you like to have 3000 channels to watch indefinitely for less than you are probably paying for one month’s cable bill? That’s right. Three thousand channels! Channels from countries all over the world. It really is quite amazing how far technology has come. The farther we advance, the more we can enjoy the good life. Seems we have come a long way!

Now I can watch 3000 channels from all over the globe. I never have to miss a professional game or fight because my cable company doesn’t carry the station or has it blacked out in my area. I can watch it right on my p.c. You can get daily news on what’s happening in almost every country in the sports world. Do you like to watch the soccer, baseball, basket ball, wrestling, tennis, or boxing? These are just a few of the sports you will have access to. How about cooking exotic dishes from different countries? Do you like to keep up on famous people and their lifestyles? Famous people come from all over the globe. If you are planning a vacation or move to another country, you can find out all about it before you even go. You can find out about the currency, living expenses, languages, traditions, weather and too many other things to mention.

One of the things I really like about having access to so much information is the education it provides for my children. Whenever they have a report to do at school, all of the information they need is right at their fingertips. Aside from that, they will not grow up in ignorance. They love to see what’s going on around the world. They are learning about the wars in the middle east and other countries as well. They are learning about the lifestyles of people everywhere, famous land marks, traveling, geography, and fun things too; like movies and music that we don’t have access to here in the United States. Sometimes they sit for hours sponging up all the great and inspirational things they see. At times I have to tell them, “Ok. You’re time’s up. Now it’s my turn!’

It is really quite incredible to have access to such an abundance of information. It’s like traveling around the globe from your own p.c. It has opened up a whole new world for me and my family with the click of a mouse!

About The Author
Cathy Barela lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. current choices of Cellular/Mobile handsets are really quite amazing, it seems that there is a phone to suit everyone, what ever your requirements and necessities.

The features of our phones are ever increasing and we feel somewhat comforted by the multiple uses of our handsets.

Almost everyone is sure to find a phone that will fit their needs, not just in the variety of the phones uses but also a handset that is aesthetically pleasing.

It might be the colour or the shape or even the feel of the phone or a combination of all three.

To many individuals it is as important to them to be seen with a smart phone as it is to be seen with the latest hair cut or that great pair of jeans that are a must have item of the time.

People are conscious of fashions and trends, of what they possess at the time and also of what others possess around them.

But what really makes people stand out is having something customised exactly to their tastes.

We are able to dress up our phones with accessories that will change the colours of the handset or we can add flashing accessories and a whole host of modifications to make our phone unique.

It gives us a feeling of being individual and aswell as being able to customise the hardware of the phone we find that we can also very easily customise the phone with content.

Ringtones are sounding better than they ever have, this is down to the handsets being able to handle more voices and Polyphonic Ringtones and Truetones sounding so much more pleasant compared to the ear piercing and harsh tones that used to emit from our bulky handsets years ago.

The choice of Cellular/Mobile content is enormous, with sites like www.premieringtones.com providing a constantly growing library of everything from Ringtones and Truetones to Video, Games and Screensavers to brighten up your handset.

Customising your phone can be done very quickly and with a number of options to obtain the required content means that it will take up very little time of anyone’s day.

The fun part is that you get to show off to the world, well at least your friends and family, the unique looks and sounds of your Cellular/Mobile phone, and if you get bored of the Ringtone on your phone it is just a case of taking a look at the huge amount of content available and in no time your handset will be feeling like brand new again with the great sounding Tones available or Games to keep you occupied or what ever you choose.

The future looks even brighter for the Cellular/Mobile world with new technologies always in the pipeline ensuring that we will all have new features and new ways of upgrading and customising our handsets.

Changing our phones appearance both inside and out is just a matter of choosing what we like best and what we feel says something about us personally.

We are all unique and we like to show that in our lives when ever possible, the good thing is that the choice for us is huge, all we have to do is choose.

About The Author
John type='text'>GPS Tracking System as an Anti-Theft Device

by: Shawn Davis

What happens when your car is stolen? Likely it is gone for good. Even if it is eventually located, it is usually no longer in driving condition. But what if there was no need for a lengthy and uncertain search for your stolen car? With a GPS tracking system, you can exactly where your car is at all times. These systems are known as “Global Positioning Systems” and they can provide a visual representation of where your vehicle is at any given time. The important thing to do with the GPS tracking system is make sure you have it properly installed in your car. And once that is taken care of, you can find your car no matter where it goes.

A GPS tracking system in a car consists of very few components, and it is very easy to install. A GPS receiver is needed, as this is what connects the vehicle to the satellite (and then the satellite relays the information to your location). Additionally, it is necessary to have to antennae: a GPS antenna that attaches to the underside of the car’s bumper cover, and a cellular antenna fastened to the car’s frame. You can directly power these items by hooking into the car’s power, or you can make use of a replaceable battery pack.

The only other things one needs for a GPS tracking system for the car is the proper software and some sort of device for receiving the information. This is most often a computer or laptop. It is even possible to receive the information on your car’s whereabouts on a pocket PC. A map appears, and your vehicle is represented on the map in a readable format. It is also possible to get an address of the car’s location. This makes tracking a stolen car rather easy, and makes it possible that the likelihood that you recover your car increases.

Many people are using a GPS tracking system to better protect their cars. Additionally, there are even companies that use this technology to offer services to their customers.
